This pump works wonderfully with a counter top pitcher rinser and supplies water perfectly with my ACS Vostok. I run a farmers market station on Saturdays and this medium volume water pump for machine and pitcher rinser has kept up with the lines that form.
However, there are minor issues that got this 4 stars. There were a few of them SPECIFICALLY for my machine. I was first informed before purchasing that everything is good to go for the Vostok with what was included in the packaging, that was not the case. The issues were:
1 - the fittings to connect the pump to the Vostok inline tube were too small. The tube that came with my Vostok needed 1/2 inch fitting. No issue on securing another one, I bought a multiple size pack ahead of buying this in anticipation of such a situation.
2 - following up from number 1, even if the correct fittings were shipped, there were not enough fittings needed for my Vostok and pitcher rinser, I’m referring to the 1/2 inch fittings. I only got one fitting to the pitcher rinser, one comes for the water flowing in, but no fitting for the water flowing out. Since this pump is for a machine and pitcher rinser, I was expecting a flow in fitting and a flow out L fitting. The fitting size for the rinser was correct though. The Vostok needed two 1/2 inch fittings.
3 - THE FITTING COVER to the 5 gallon jug DOES NOT FIT a typical 5 gallon water jug. The pick up tube had some distance between its tip and the bottom on the 5 gallon jug when I rest the pickup tube with the cover on top. I say rest because it couldn’t securely fit. Even when I switched fitting covers; the other 5 gallon adapter cover fits great with the pick up tube, I did have to puncture a hole similar to the caffeewerks cover. These easily slide on and off. This reduced the distance between the tip of the pickup tube and the bottom of the 5 gallon jug, however, distance still remains. I measured how much water was left that could not be siphoned into the pick up tube and a little more than 1/2 a gallon remained. So I believe this fittings only fit what cafewerks offers and not the typical one that are available in grocery stores. This was not made clear enough in the description, because it states “fits a standard 5 gallon jug.”
4 - the tube fittings are quite difficult to remove. I followed the instructions they provide in their YouTube set up video, however; the tubing, in hindsight, does not work the greatest in terms of space from what they suggest in their video. Definitely measure the distances between everything because I really need to trim the tubing to have a more organized fit around the pump and machine. I will have to purchase more tubing soon but measure how you would like everything to be organized because unless there is an abundance of space around you, their suggestions in measurement may not 100% work for you. It seems to be a one size fits all sort of set up. Which is good, but when specifics come up, caffewerks suggestions may not be the best for what you need.
Overall, I would %1,000,000 recommend this, it made my work flow SO MUCH EASIER! To get all the proper pieces needed, it did take nearly 2 days of running errands to find this and that. Reasons were due from stores not having what I needed and also paying for expedited shipping to make sure the proper parts would arrive before Saturdays market.
